"My bicycle means a lot to me. I feel I am in control when I ride my bicycle
and it helps me work out my frustration and aggravations so I can be a better person."
- Jessica Green
Jessica's Story
Jessica was a young woman with Autism who passed away in her sleep on December 19th, 2007. Jessica always looked forward to the "never ending bicycle ride". Her desire to ride was driven by her great love for nature. Jessica loved to visit a place she called "The Farm", a place where programs that will support and serve the needs of children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders are in the progress of development. Like Jessica, many individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families need networks of supports through out their lifespan. Supportive networks that Jessica and her family always sought out within the community she lived. Fortunately for Jessica and those that met her, many came to know and love her beautiful soul and spirit as she became a member of softball, and bowling teams.
Jessica had many challenges also faced by other individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
